The stock "bent" side-shifter bar will interfere with the exhaust, pretty much no matter what. What you do is substitute a straight piece of rod (or tubing) for the bent part. JPIII and Bleyseng have done this in the past. All you need is a way to hold the ends still relative to each other while you cut out the bent part and weld in a new tube.

I think that with that, you should be fine.
