I think youŽll be much better off, if you spend most of that money buying a better car..... instead of putting half the money aside for repairs.

A well maintained and sorted 911 is actually quite friendly to your finances and will most likely drive lots and lots of miles and require nothing more than basic maintainance like oil, plugs, cleaning......just regular care and love.

A converted car should never cost you more than a non converted car - unless done by RUF or Singer or the likes.

Just keep looking (and test driving) and report back if you have questions or want oppinions.
