I would use a oil treatment called sea foam. Just buy a pint pour in engine and drive normal for 100 miles. And by normal I mean Porsche normal rev it to redline here and there, drive it on some twisters a real road test.....
The ticking should go away as it sounds like several instances I have had after having a cam tower off a lifters sitting for a long time then rebuild motor goes back together and the ticking just seems like 1 or 2 lifters won't go away until I get it real hot and flog the engine awhile.
