Careful what you wish for. A street in my neighborhood had a similar issue...several people using it as a short-cut and driving too fast. The residents all got together and complained to the city relentlessly. Next thing you know, there are speed bumps all up & down the street. It deterred the speeders, but now the speed bumps have become a major PITA for those who live on the street and have to negotiate them every time they come & go.
