Back when the Porsche 944 Turbo was being sold, I was working on them. All of the 944 street car did not have gas fill shock. Only the Bilstein shocks were gas filled. They were used on the 911 and 928 used them on street cars. The 944 cup cars also used the Bilstein on them.
The Koni shocks have an external adjustment on the top of the piston rod so all the gas would leak out if they were gas filled.
