I ran 60wt in a car that would knock without it. inline 4 and I mostly push started it due to electrical issues. Cranking on the battery it would do about half a rev, and either catch and run or I would be pushing it. Inland Calif cold wasn't an issue, but I don't think I ever got it really cold. Had an oil temp gauge and usually ran about 160F, needed a good 20F more to "wake" it up.
BTW push means me pushing it then hopping in and popping the clutch to spin the motor.
