I guess I am technically leaving IT next month. I'm going from building applications to data mining. My favorite part of my current job was always answering the hard questions--the questions that require knowledge and ingenuity to figure out how to real get to the heart of. Now I will get to do it full-time. I'll even get to do some self-directed research.
