Our place in southern Ontario borders 600+ acres of conservancy area, and we get a ton of interesting fauna through the back yard. We have a clear 150 meters by 300 meters of field in back and we can see just about everything that passes through.
We get deer, coyotes, one wolf, turkeys, raccoons, geese, herons, fox and turtles to and from the pond. Even an albino skunk until the neighbor blasted him with the 12g.
A few weeks ago we saw first one then a second reddish canine-type animals trot through the back yard. We all thought they were red foxes.
Then today I noticed them playing for about 6 hours along the border of the tree line. The telescopic lens was "organized" and now cannot be located so all I had was my Samsung phone. Here are a few pics and video.
There were 3 of them, all about 10-15kgs. All were reddish and had black on the back of their ears but white in the ears face-on. One has a grey-blackish tail, one is white with a black tip and the other is red with a white tip. The tails are about 75% the length of their bodies. I couldn't find any dung later...
What do you think these are? Pup coyotes? Red foxes? Something else?
