I am in the process of ordering parts for my 911 rebuild.
I am a bit confused about what my engine is. I need to know if it is aluminium or magnesium.
I think it is a 911 1976 magnesium, although has been molested at some stage through it;s like and has had some work done.
Engine number is: 6362981
Case numbers are : 930.101.103.4R and 930.101.104.4R
Fan housing number is: 930.106.101.0R
Is it a 2.7L or a 3.0L
I am a bit confused, engine number states it is a 1976 2.7 magnesium??, although my mechanic is inclined to think it is a 3.0 aluminium case. He said this because of the case number and my head studs broke clean and did not pull (more common with the magnesium cases).
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
