I thought JP...thanks for the correction. The engineering spaces on the Aegis ships were fascinating. When I wasn't flying I really enjoyed spending time below decks.
Plank owner on CG-50, the Valley Forge. Picked her up in Pascagoula. My squadron, HSL-43 was the first SH-60B west coast squadron.
I also did a lot of pre cruise work ups on the Vincennes...like mreid, I spent a lot of time with the Vincennes since I had done the first escorts of the re-flagged Kuwaiti tankers on FFG-37 during Ernest Will, where the Vincennes was headed.
Landed on the Bunker Hill. Don't remember staying!
I met Captain Rogers a number of times during work ups and an additional five day exercise off SoCal.
Interesting times.
