The insight I can offer is he is attached to the cars and for him a lot of it is him feeling the car is going to a good home. While he may get stuck selling cars in lots because of the circumstances I think the best chance of success for an individual is to be genuine and make him understand that you want to bring it back to its former glory for your personal enjoyment.
He and I first went sideways because I said a lot of those cars are turds. He took that very personally, like I had called his daughter a retard or a fat cow. He and I have never had a civil word since.
