Well said Craig. Regardless of anything else in my life I'll always be grateful to be a surfer for the sheer natural beauty I have been a witness to in my brief lifetime.

Yes Stone there are some sharks here but in the big picture I would be MUCH more concerned if I surfed the Indian Ocean or in Northern California.

No one has ever lost their life here and the majority of bites are relatively minor.
The Outer Banks...one of my fav. places I've ever surfed. We call it the "Mad Hatter". Used to rent a house in Avon every fall during the ECSC back in the day. I have some slides I'll have to dig out one day from some of those trips. Good times.
