it's kinda amazing to me.

yesterday, got a hall pass from the boss when he cancelled my swing shift..(sorry to you bay area guys, with what we did to traffic)

i grabbed my wife, bow, and dog and off to the bow range. this was a new range i never go to. when i was done with my few shots and was packing to leave..(i kept my session short to avoid boring my wife)..i see a older guy shooting at some target waaaay over on the horizon.

i ask about yardage. "where he is standing, is 70..but if you stand here, it is a 100 yards"

100?!! okay..i wait until the guy gets done, and he sends his minion to fetch his arrows..this guy had a bad limp.

all clear. i let an arrow fly. the minion had binos and he calls a bulls. wtf? i jog over and get my arrow..yup..center. my wife asked if that was a fluke.. only one way to find out. just started shooting. i never really missed. mostly 8" groups..some tiny groups. super fun watching an arrow sail over to a target out at 100. you can count..1 Mississippi, two Mississippi, as the arrow flies.

man, that was fun!! all my friends want to meet me there to try now. i am not so sure i could do this with a rifle with open sights..standing. like with an old winchester 30-30 w iron sights..

bows sure have advanced.
