I've been ok with needles since I was little. When I was 7 I had to get a BUNCH of shots to travel to Japan. I've never had to stick myself. I'd rather not, but I think if I had to I could. I've picked and cut to get splinters out or decapitate a wart. It probably depends a bit on how you have to stick yourself. I had a diabetic boss once would would just jab a short needle through his pants into the top of his thigh while he was talking to you. That's probably a bit easier than having to get the needle into a vein.
How about the scene in the movie the Rock when Nicolas Cage's character has to inject himself in the heart with the VX Gas antidote?
