Can you stab yourself with a needle?
Beats the alternative... I had a roommate for a while who was diabetic and had to inject twice a day. It bothered me a little to watch at first but it became kinda fascinating after a while. I think (like him) that I could get used to it, especially if the alternative is ending up in the ER or dying...
The hardest thing for me was giving daily saline IVs to my cat when she was in the final stages of chronic renal failure. The vet showed me how to do it painlessly and I always did it right and she never showed any bother from it but the whole "ripping" sensation as the needle broke the skin bothered me. Very sharp, probably no pain, but a lot larger gauge than an insulin shot.
I've given a few other injections and it never bothered me. Oddly blood donation needles (which are probably about the same diameter as the aforementioned IV) never bother me. I've had IVs too - again no issue.
