That really depends on where you work. That applies to both Cops and Firefighters. In my 22 years on the job, I can count on one hand how many times I've seen Fire actually have to go inside a burning building. They spend way more time responding to Accidents/ medical calls. On the other side of the coin, I know of plenty of cops that have been shot at....
Cops and Firefighters don't get paid for what they do daily, but what they might have to do. I personally don't know any firefighter or cop that will not step up when that time comes, whether its going into a building on fire or going into an active shooter scenerio.
Kinda interesting, not often you see the pelican firemen having to defend the bad work of their fellow firefighters and some of the negative comments and perceptions about their profession. Fun isn't it.
