According to a representative from Germany who gave a talk at the PCA Parade, the 20W50 has proper amounts of Zn and P (around 1500 ppm I believe- you can have too much so 1500-1800 is the sweet spot), slightly more than the 10W60 full synthetic (since that has to work with cats). They did a survey of what oils people used and did not want to just recommend Brad Penn for some reason. They wanted to blend in just the right detergents, anti-wear additives, anti-oxidents, etc. and they felt all the other oils were lacking (really that is just why they made their own blend rather than just marking up Brad Penn and putting it in a cool bottle). They had originally approached Mobil 1 about doing this oil but Mobil said the volumes would be too small so they gave permission for Porsche to go ahead with their own blend, even though all the new cars get Mobil 1.

The interesting thing is that he said that concern over Zinc and Phosphorous is only an American issue. No one really pays any attention to it in Europe apparently.
