I think the reality is most will resent being snooped on and will decrease not increase sales. Im sure there is data to prove me wrong or they wouldent do it however.....

Watch how smart companies like NewEgg do it.
Sometimes I'll be waiting for a deal on something so I intentionally do a search on their site for specific products then for the next week I get ads with deals, which change daily, specific to what I'm waiting for a deal on.
Saves me from having to regularly check them or read the newsletter.
