New car - 1st oil change at 7500...would you change it sooner?
It's a new Subaru Crosstrek - I get free dealer oil changes, the first one is at 7500 miles, which feels like too long to me on a new engine...but what do I know? Specs call for 0W20 Synthetic.
The larger engine Subarus (3.6L, in the Outback) have their first one at 3000, and they use conventional oil.
Just seeking the opinion of the brain trust here -- if it were you, would you pay for an extra oil change around 3K, or go with the 7500 as the maintenance schedule calls for?
