Mikes car hasn't progressed as fast either of us would like, but at least she has a good home. I've been working like mad on my garage space so that I've got a good foundation for doing the complicated work of swapping the engine. Its taken a year but the Im just about ready to start with the swap.
In the meantime, we added a carbon splitter that we bought from eBay from a Nascar team. I cut and sectioned it down the middle and took out about 10 inches, then epoxied it back together with some dowel pins in the middle. Its a nice thick rigid piece that should give the bumper quite a bit of strength. I also added a black grill in the oil cooler opening and mounted the front license plate holder.
Soon I'll be dropping the engine in prep for the STi install, just as soon as I get my brother up to the Bay Area to help
