There are no doubt great players out there but yes the screaming lead guitar solo is no more.

I think the last great "guitar god" (in the classic sense) is probably Slash.

IMHO John Frusciante is a ridiculously gifted player.

Jack White is certainly doing what he can to bring back the classic rock n roll guitar slinger.

Big Jerry Cantrell fan.

Wish Tom Morello would rely less on effects.

John Mayer is an awesome player when you look past his pop stuff.

Joe Bonamassa.

The list is endless but the days of the Eric's, Jimmy's, Jeff's, Eddie's, Stevie's seems to be MIA.
