I was bar hopping with a friend around Pioneer Square back in 1990 right after I got out of the military. My buddy ran into an old friend from high school that was a drummer in a band playing at The Off Ramp. He said he'd leave our names at the door so we could get in free. The band was Pearl Jam, it was a great show, he even gave us Mookie Blaylock T-shirts.
We hung out with him after the show & went to his house. I remember his girlfriend freaking out when she saw my buddy's pistol sticking out his pants when he sat down. She was Nazi storm trooper that I believe was largely responsible for Dave's departure from the band.
I've seen them a couple times since, but not since the 90s. They lost me after Vitalogy.
I saw a lot of bands in the 90s, I remember going to the OK Hotel to see this grunge wanna be band from Cali named STP, I was very skeptical, but it was only $2. Turned out they blew my socks off, great show.
I wish I could have seen Mother Love Bone, probably my favorite grunge music along with Gruntruck.
