Well, thanks for trying to school me there, but no... you are missing some things. Those would be resolution, parallax and that this is 2014 and sensor precision is so easy, even the Chinese do it - in mass. Resolution - A lil' 2" analog gauge might increase its resolution by focusing the scale - say, 8-16V rather than 0-20v- but still, there is the parallax. In short, a gauge is only as accurate as can be deciphered by the user.
Just curious, for your metrology needs, do you put a Vernier scale on your analog gauge needles? You know, to pull out the precision, which is actually there?
