Actually, if the part that has failed is the rubber isolation element in the throttle linkage it is at the back tunnel wall and is best accessed from underneath the car. See:

Also, one of the ball socket joints could have simply popped off a ball or otherwise come loose. Check the bellcrank on the driver's side of the transmission underneath the car. Cheers, Jim
