It would lower the cr but it may disturb the squish clearance and it might be worse off than with the higher cr. The swirling of the intake charge is critical to avoid detonation and to get a more complete burn. But if they have it in the car and running then they may be ok, I'd like to see some dyno's and see where their boost #'s and timing are at.
