Certainly worth checking out. My first Porsche was a 79 924, and I have always loved these cars, with the Martini being my favorite.
The interior doesn't appear trashed from the single posted pic and the body looks relatively clean. I would at least check it out, see why it is non-op and shoot him an offer. If the car is too much hassle and the Martini-specific trim bits are in good shape, you could always part it.
