We have a brindle girl from the last of a 30 year Lionhearted Mastiff lineage. Her brindle siblings were shot in the head and the fawns were left to starve...and most did.
Our golden showed up on our dock after clearly having been severely beaten (that was 9 years ago). Became my wife's running partner and took years for her to trust men.
Third dog was a pound pup we snagged from the chamber. A PITA dog with health issues but now my daughters favorite living being!
Their personalities, emotion and pure devotion make them a joy to live with. House is always a mess, but well worth it.
Good to see we're not alone.
