I got the new oem one, it's silver, and made in Brazil.
While the original one did not fail, I replaced it as preventative maintenance, since I've been stranded in my mk3 VW due to a failed coil. Tested it on the side of the road, and it was producing the most pathetic spark I've ever seen.
