I feel lucky in the same way. We live in a small town, and the local officer always makes it a point to stop by and talk to local business owners. He always lets us know if there have been any robberies, or anybody we need to know about in the area, tells stories about some of the calls he has been on recently, and just likes to shoot the ****. He is also a cool guy, races vintage dirt bikes, and loves to look at and talk about the cars that roll in and out of the shop .
I love having a good relationship with the local pd.
You could say he is slacking , but you could also call it good community relations .
