Steve,
Go back and drive the S in sport mode, then drive the regular cayman
and this: "The 2 buttons for the AC temp and fan need to be replaced" is very common but requires the whole system to come off them be sent to a third party or the buttons replaced - if done by dealer it's really expensive.
I vote Cayman S with PASM, Sport Chrono and if you can find a sport exhaust awesome it's a $3k option....
