Well it has been almost 3 months since my total bypass surgery and I am feeling better all the time. So Wednesday I decided to go to the range and finally try out the 58 caliber H&A under hammer I bought back just before surgery. Since I could not go for several months (May 20th) I put together a 45 caliber slug gun from a collection of parts I bought. The stock is a wood called Lace Wood and has 20 coats of clear lacquer, 1 in 16 twist Green Mtn. barrel and H&R hardware. The wood is pretty but I found it splinters easily and I used two 3/4 inch thick pieces pined together with epoxy so it is very stiff. The sights are Lee Shaver ($$$$$$ but nice) and I made the other hardware. Both are right on with 70 grains of Goex FFG.
