This sums it up for me. Long hoods are fun to drive, and at the astronomic prices they fetch now no one would dare risk it - eliminating the fun factor and desire to own one.
Value based upon rarity means nothing to me (personally). A Sportomatic 912E is likely very rare, doesn't mean it's good.
Edit: I'm also maybe a little PO'd because I am a young man who has been exposed to early car fun. By the time I get the scratch to buy one, they'll have moved further up market.
