I have to disagree with you when it comes to only evacuating an A/C system to leak check. I have had situations where the vacuum held overnight but when charged leaks showed up on fittings. Leak testing with nitrogen is to ensure there are no leaks. A Vacuum on the system is to remove condensables and moisture.
