I'm posting here before reading carefully through your last inputs. I did scan quickly and noticed some good stuff and on the dark side, seems personal attacks are back in vogue. Will spend thread time later to catch up on all things good & bad. (Can't leave this thread with matches. Whole f**king place would burn down around us. I'm thinking about a public announcement on the subject of personal attacks. For now, the short version... TSHTS.)
On to today's vacuum...
Static pressure... as expected.
AC vacuum pulled to 30 inches in under a minute. All vids I've seen suggest pumps running several minutes to get to 30. This speed doesn't sit well with me.
I removed equipment to start from scratch. When doing so, low pressure coupling just fell off input head and into my hand. Since there's a vacuum sucking the couplings onto the inputs... I ran vacuum again. Same under 1 minute move down to 30 inches. Schrader's were pushed in to open system and manifold valves... f**k me... maybe manifold valves were closed. I thought I consciously opened them but now I'm candidly wondering. (Virginvacuum operator in the house --- give me one more try.)
I was going to say... "so I was not pulling a vacuum in hoses & manifold only." BUT perhaps I was pulling a manifold vacuum! After I post this I'm heading to garage. Couplings attached...
I know this kind of coupling's retainer bearings must move in and out a certain distance to work right. A close look at both couplings. See what I'm seeing?
I pulled on each coupling when they were mounted on manifold and high would not come off. Low pulled off rather easily. I know this is not right. You know where I'm headed tomorrow.
Today's in cabin, while driving temp, windows down... overcast skies.
