My brother in law just did a 6300mi road trip with a 2005 Acura TL, 223k, that has never had any mechanical work other than oil changes and brakes. (yes, really)
And he didn't change the oil before, during or after the trip...LOL
If you're '80 SC has seen love, routine maintenance, and most importantly...routine driving, you'll have no issues.
