Information on installing a new Skylight
Like all things, whether I do it myself or hire pro's I want to go in 100% informed. So I am here, looking as I often do for guidance or a recommended web-site for information on installing skylights with proper flashing etc. At first I thought I was going to install a NYC style galvanized old-school skylight but the building requires a dormer type, actually a curbed-dormer sitting on the ceiling/roof which is slightly pitched. I will post a drawing soon of the plan.
The opening will be 4 x 7 feet. 7 feet will be vertical east-facing windows, supported by a dormer shed emerging from the gently-pitched asphalt roof.
The building-hired architect was so useless, his drawing was a joke. I will post that also for your entertainment.
Thanks in advance to the Pelican Brain-Trust!
