nope - it will be fine. remember that the rear is only 56% effective, so the 550# rate will be 308 wheel rate.
what will make it a mess is if gas shocks are used. it took me a while to work out hydraulic shocks to settle down the nasty issues that gas brings into the mix. much better ride though.
