Think about how airplane seats were designed 50 years ago, vs. today.
(Maximum comfort versus maximum capacity.)
That said, the airlines knew this product existed, and that these situations would eventually happen.
They have enacted nothing in terms of stated policy.
They are less afraid of fist fights than impeding on patent rights.
