Daughters Mini has tyre pressure monitors built in. , but that didnt stop her running with both front tyres way underinflated as she had never in 2 years ownership even thought to check tyre pressures-the lesson cost her two new runflat tyres which would easily have lasted two further years had they been run at correct pressures.
Wife drove home 10 miles from work in ery heavy traffic,on a very hot day, in her Fiat with the overheating warning light on, and then mentioned to me that a light was on on the dash that she'd never seen before? Which one-can't remember. Its really a miracle that the engine ran at all to get her home as by the time she entered the driveway it needed a new(used replacement) cylinder head and 4 new pistons, on an engine that had only done 60,000 miles, and had been serviced by the book.
