Squirt some super glue gel in there, press it closed tight, wipe off excess.
SKS should be entirely utilitarian. Clear laquer in a rattle can OR applied with a paintbrush. Maybe stain first, depending.
For a "correct" finish, it depends on where your SKS was made...
