Very little actual content when watching. It just seems to be a lot of fill to take up space to run more commercials. I'd rather read a book.

You can say that about all American shows. It's the reason new Top Gear UK episodes are 90 minutes here- in England they are 60 minutes commercial free.
At least this one has explosions of science.
