Gotta brag a bit about our local Baxter Auto Parts, based in Oregon. Sold the 912E to a friend across the country from here, he's going to fly out, drive to Albuquerque for a job, then on home to Tennessee.
Made a long list of parts to go with the car, went to Baxter to get what they have, then order the rest from Pelican.
The counter guy asked to see my list, disappeared back in the warehouse area, and started bringing parts to the counter. Disappeared again, came back with more parts. Again.
Though Porsche made the 912E for only one year, they had
everything on the list! Sure, lots of stuff cross-references to VW or 911 parts, but they took the time to locate everything.
I won't step into a Pep Boys. I will go out of my way if necessary to use Baxter.
