The time he spent physically inspecting an old used car that he's considering buying for over twenty thousand dollars? That he might wind up with for his desired price??
If that's your definition of "wasted time", you need to stay far away from this hobby and only buy new or CPO cars for inflated prices at franchised dealerships. This "wasted time" is half the life of a dedicated car hunter. Some of us are so silly that we actually consider it fun.
This forum, (and the other ones), have always revealed to me how many people have no business trying to buy an old used Porsche. They are simply not equipped for it. And that is not to call you or anyone else a dummy or a rube, you could be a brain surgeon or some other extremely high value worker in society but not cut-out for buying old sports cars.
