I looked at a Momo Prototipo recently, but had some concerns re: condition and originality. It measures 12" across, which equates to 300mm (?) - I know Momo made them that diameter.
I saw it in person - Stamped Momo and 12-77, with painted script 'prototip', not Prototipo, possibly 'O' worn off. Condition more worn than pix show, scuffs on leather and small hole in leather at 10 o'clock spoke. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 6. Price was right if it had been in better condition: under $200.
Is this diameter wheel generally too small, too much work for an '87 Carrera? I see smaller diameters used on early cars, but I think I'd miss the leverage of my current 340mm wheel, not too mention additional obstruction of gauges if I installed a 300mm wheel.
Would it be a good investment for resale? Appreciate your comments. Sorry for crappy cell phone pix.
