I also see poor starts due to start maps and clutch position. I don't understand this one, how does a better driver do this better than someone else?

I also see some DNF's due to fuel, but perhaps they can put fuel usage numbers on the steering wheel.
I think the root issue is that the cars no longer reflect any sort of real relationship to motoring in the real world. Perhaps a de-rate is required so that the driver actually controls things like clutch engagement with his foot, sort of like real life, and the less complicated car will have an advantage as a real human can actually drive it.

Brake failure, no reason to have the pits say anything. I have wear sensors on my 911.....big 'effin light comes on if there is a problem, just like oil pressure. No reason why F1 cannot be the same. The sight of Villeneuve or other great drivers nursing a car to the finish are real examples of the human experience of driving, rather than the digital/silicon one.

Only fear I have on starts are replays of the Paletti incident...stopped car on grid, gets smacked from the rear at high speed with bad results.
