Just curious about the "paint" that is on there now...is it really just paint? On my original tail it seems really thick, far thicker than I'd think paint would be. In addition there are a couple of small bits that have chipped which are really thick. Was it just really thick paint from the factory or is it actually something else? Mine ('88 Carrera, factory whale tail) is a little oxidized but not a surprise after all these years.
