Changing the starter on the Elky is not overly difficult as long as you have Joe around or a pet gorilla. The starter weighs about 200 lbs or so. (My mom told me a millions times not to exaggerate)
Getting the old starter off is easy. Getting the new heavy monster back on is the challenge. Once again, the 911 is easy. Just hug the transmission and do a "reach around" to get to the starter bolts. Of course that is because I have a 915 transmission. The G50 transmission cars have to have a partial engine drop.
