I work with a bunch of different IT systems at work. I've been doing this job for 15 years. I'm pretty familiar with the systems and even if I end up having to look at another vendor's version, I still "get it". But we have this one system at work that's different than all of the rest. I'd love to learn it. It's not that common, but I like to learn new things. Unfortunately, everytime I learn this stuff or get a little training, I forget 99% of what I learned because I only get to work with it about 3-4 times a year. It's frustrating.

Actually, that's been proven as bunk. Even the folks that originally said it agree that it's bunk. Apparently, aptitude, talent, intelligence, etc... have a large effect on learning.
