I also replaced the slightly grungy trunk carpet, and installed the cambermeister strut brace along with the two new hood shocks mentioned above. I also sanded off the tarnish and early spot rust from the cross brace and painted it a more low key satin black. Much better... no more hood on head either!



I still need to make a few small relief cuts in the carpet which I plan to secure with Velcro. I am thinking about a lightweight plastic mesh solution that I can cut and bend to the shape of the trunk that will then allow the carpet to lay on top of it more evenly. In other words, it would hide the contours of things like the gas tank and the spare tire.
Carpet looks really nice. Which kit/color was it, and how is the fitment overall?
