Getting the Urge to Swap again
I've been chasing down a hard start / high idle trouble on the 560SL for a while now and it's really hit me how different, same year vs. same year the car is from the 924S I used to own. The Mercedes is vastly more complex and difficult to work on than the Porsche was. The only truly ugly job on that car was changing the clutch but with this one it's always an adventure. A lot of the hardware hasn't been turned since the car was built, but access in general is a huge issue. The online community is also nowhere near as good as PP and Clark's Garage is.
I've started thinking about 951s, but I plan on sticking with this one for a while. How are 911s of a similar vintage? I've only played around with the water cooled ones.
